Pelvic and Obstetric Ultrasounds
Ultrasounds are conducted at my practice by a Sonographer, who has 25 years of experience in the field, to give my patients the best possible care when it comes to their Reproductive Health.
What does this mean for diagnosing patients?
This can assist in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as PCOS, ovarian cysts, fibroids and sometimes endometriosis. This allows me to monitor the treatment process and removes the need to refer my patient for an ultrasound elsewhere; saving patients paying an additional cost for consultation and ultrasound.
What Ultrasounds are offered?
Gynae / Pelvic Ultrasounds:
- For general check-ups, patients with PCOS, ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometrioma’s, pelvic inflammatory disease etc. Patient will receive DVD & report.
Pregnancy (Obstetric) Ultrasounds
- At 12 weeks: for nuchal translucency and nasal bone (patient will receive DVD & report).
- At 20 weeks: for fetal abnormality; assess structural wellbeing of fetus (with DVD and report).
- Gender scan only at 20 weeks (no DVD or report).
- At 28 weeks: 4D scan – images and movie clip of baby (DVD only).
The above pregnancy scans are standard procedure, however if a patient wishes to have an ultrasound any time in between they are most welcome to do so.
